Client: Larry Tullos
Nexus 7 Tablet Mount

  • Client provided a model to revise as well as a list of changes needed to be made.

  • SolidWorks feature recognition was used to insert individual holes, extrusions and contours into the FeatureTree.

Revisions

  • Extend left & right edges of bezel down to meet the curve bottom tab and fill gap

  • Add feature back side of bottom tab to hold circular neodymium magnets

  • Resize and change cutout on right side

  • Add mounting hole on right side

  • Eliminate cut-out on left side

  • Add mounting hole on left side

  • Add two cut-outs on bottom

Magnet Retainer

  • Original "Snap-in" design did not work well as the plastic available for 3D printing was too stiff.

  • New "slip-in" design implemented

  • Circular magnet sits on side supports (blue).

  • Stops (black) at the end of supports prevent the magnet from slipping out without fully blocking insert hole.

  • To remove magnet, press up against bottom tab face and slip out manually or insert screwdriver into hole (red) at semicircle.
